Toby Sinclair Professional Naturalist and Guide, Toby Sinclair • Toby escorts some of our group departures and is our lead naturalist consultant for India. He began his career as a naturalist with Tiger Tops in Nepal and has been living in India for over 25 years. He is actively involved with Tiger Link and Global Tiger Patrol. Over the years he has written or edited 20 books on the subcontinent including Insight Guides "Indian Wildlife" and "Photographic Guide on the Birds of India" and various books on the temples of Khajuraho and museums & monuments of India. As field production manager and lead project consultant (and encyclopedia!) for the BBC, Toby has researched and managed the filming of "Tiger Crisis" (1994) and the "Land of the Tiger" (1998) for BBC/PBS. He worked on, "Tiger!" filmed over two years in Kanha Tiger Reserve and produced by the National Geographic Society/BBC, that was aired in April 1999. Subsequently he worked on three films for BBC/Discovery in Ranthambhore and another film in Panna Tiger Reserve documenting a project that monitored the dispersal of male tigers. He concurently worked on two projects in Sri Lanka for BBC/Discovery; one on elephants - "The Last Tusker" and another on the thriving leopard population in Yala National Park. He then put together a book on the Sri Lankan leopard ("For The Leopard") that was published in 2003. The most recent film project was a 50 minute documentry on "The Desert Wolves of India" that was broadcast in the UK in October 2004. He is currently researching a project on the migration of geese over the Himalaya and helping compile a book on the Indian Landscape.

Nina Rao Safari Planner, Nina Rao • As you plan your trip, you will be talking with Nina Rao. From 1990 to 1995 she was Vice President and General Manager of an African tour operator based in New York. In order to plan the optimal safari for my clients, she has explored the national parks and game reserves of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, and India on more than 25 safaris. In 1995, she founded Rare Earth Explorations. As a native of India, she has a special desire to promote sustainable tourism to the parks there. She was also a member on a team of experienced safari consultants that created the onsafari.com Web site, acknowledged as one of the most comprehensive source of African safari information on the Internet. She is chair-person of 'Saving Wild Tigers' a voluntary organization that raises money for conserving India's wild tigers and other wildlife.
